4 Tips for Building Customer Loyalty Online

Christmas is just around the corner! To help you prepare for the holiday season with peace of mind, the Sessile editorial team offer some tips on how to build customer loyalty using the digital tools at your disposal. Google My Business, Facebook, Instagram, newsletters… Any means is a good way to get people talking about you!

You already do this with your customers—when you share stories about flowers that no one else knows, when you have a thorough understanding of your most loyal customers’ tastes and expectations, or when you give them a loyalty card. Building customer loyalty is an essential part of any business!

And digital tools can give you that little extra boost to keep your customers coming back regularly to buy bouquets from you.

1/ Provide an exceptional customer experience

The first step in keeping your customers coming back is to provide an experience that meets their expectations. Specifically, this means, on the one hand, making the most of the quality of your flowers—by adding beautiful photos, for example. Second, your online store must meet e-commerce standards: everyone is used to shopping online these days, and these norms are now firmly ingrained in users’ habits.

That's why Sessile has designed an online store that brings together the best of the flower e-commerce industry, so you can fully enjoy the quality of your products.

2/ Take Advantage of Online Ratings

Today, it’s essential to manage your online reputation, especially when it comes to the reviews left on your store. It’s estimated that about 80% of users read reviews of a service or product before making a decision. So you need to be able to capitalize on your customers’ satisfaction!

You can ask your satisfied customers to leave a positive review after a purchase, either in-store or via email. Since we know this step is essential, we’ve automated it to trigger as soon as you receive a Sessile order. And most of our florists have seen a significant increase in the number of reviews they receive!

3/ Update the products in your online store regularly

To keep customers coming back, you need to give them a good reason to do so. And you’re in luck: flowers provide an excellent excuse to, for example, update the bouquets in your online store very regularly so they reflect the changing seasons. Just as your store window changes, your website should reflect that same dynamism.

The more often you update your store, the more likely your customers will be to return and discover all your new items. At Sessile, we encourage our partner florists to add new products at least once a month, but feel free to do so more often if you can.

4/ Check in with us regularly!

Along the same lines, keep yourself top of mind with your customers by checking in with them regularly. Don’t hesitate to invite them to follow you on social media so they can see your most beautiful creations every day.

You can also use a newsletter if you have news to share, such as floral workshops that took place in your shop or a wedding you worked on. Keep in mind that the content should be short, rich in images (your business is very visual), and that the email should always link back to your website to encourage orders!

The entire Sessile team wishes you all the best for the holidays! And if you enjoyed this article, please feel free to let us know by contacting us using the button below.

Who are we?

Sessile champions the independence of artisan florists online. Founded in 2019 by six friends, Sessile brings together 500 florists committed to transforming the industry and enables flower delivery throughout France, Belgium, and Luxembourg. By breaking away from the traditional online catalog model, the network highlights each florist’s expertise and helps keep the art of floristry alive. Florists can pursue their passion and create more creative bouquets because they have greater freedom to offer seasonal flowers and, whenever possible, locally sourced flowers.
