Mother's Day 2020: Love for Moms and Solidarity with Florists

This year, Mother’s Day falls on Sunday, June 7. Given the unusual circumstances—with florists forced to close their shops throughout the lockdown—this occasion takes on a special meaning. What if we used Mother’s Day this year as an opportunity to celebrate all mothers, while also showing solidarity with independent florists?

Mother’s Day is, of course, the best opportunity to simply tell your mom just how much you love her. And what could be better—in terms of simplicity and emotion—thangiving her flowers? Flowers are the best way to convey the depth and beauty of your feelings with subtlety and elegance.

Find My Mother's Day Bouquet

At Sessile, this is our mission: we believe the best place to buy flowers is simply at your favorite independent florist. Who better than them to advise you on the flowers that will really hit the mark? In addition to the advice you’ll receive in-store, you’ll find fresh, seasonal flowers and bouquets that are so much more than just a simple arrangement of flowers.

An act of solidarity with florists

This year’s Mother’s Day holds special significance for artisan florists. While it’s one of the most important events of the year for them, florists are emerging from a strange period of lockdown during which their shops had to remain closed. This year, Mother’s Day therefore takes on a dual significance: it’s both an expression of love for our mothers and a show of solidarity with local florists.

In addition, the return to in-store business is proceeding slowly, as retailers must adapt their stores to the new health guidelines. In particular, the limit on the number of customers allowed in the store at one time is restricting their ability to serve the public.

That’s why, to help you get organized, you can order your bouquets in advance—by phone or on your favorite florist’s website. You can either pick them up the same day—thereby limiting the time you spend in the shop—or have them delivered directly to your mom’s home.

In closing, and because it’s important to say this: Sessile wishes all mothers and artisan florists a wonderful Mother’s Day. Let’s stick together!

    Who are we?

Sessile champions the independence of artisan florists online. Founded in 2019 by six friends, Sessile brings together 500 florists committed to transforming the industry and enables flower delivery throughout France, Belgium, and Luxembourg. By breaking away from the traditional online catalog model, the network highlights each florist’s expertise and helps keep the art of floristry alive. Florists can pursue their passion and create more creative bouquets because they have greater freedom to offer seasonal flowers and, whenever possible, locally sourced flowers.
